Drawing requirements
A correctly prepared file speeds up the quote and reduces the risk of errors in a production run. Each material grade and thickness needs its own file.
Preparing your drawings for a quote
Required
- DXF or DWG format, preferably AutoCAD 2010–2018
- 1:1 scale in millimetres
- Closed 2D contours with no gaps
- Splines converted to arcs and polylines
Please remove
- Dimension and centre lines
- Text labels, title blocks and hatching
- Duplicated or overlapping vectors
- 3D objects and surplus geometry
01 File format and version
- Files are accepted in .dxf or .dwg format.
- AutoCAD 2010–2018 is the recommended version. Newer or vendor-specific 3D formats may be read incorrectly.
- One file per thickness and per material grade.
- .DXF
- .DWG
02 Geometry and contours
- 1:1 scale — the drawing must match the real physical dimensions in millimetres.
- Closed contours — every cutting line must be closed. Open paths and overlapping lines are not accepted.
- 2D only — the file must contain flat vectors only, with no 3D objects.
03 How to prepare the DXF file
To quote cutting and bending, send the part drawings or their flat patterns from AutoCAD — in DXF or DWG format — to karbonsial.ukraina@gmail.com.
The file name must contain:
- 1Steel thickness (mm)
- 2Steel type
- 3Part identifier or name
- 4Quantity (vol)
- 5Extension (dxf / dwg)
Example
30mm_lw3_x100_10vol.dxf- The file name must not contain special characters (quotes, brackets, dashes) or Cyrillic.
